August the month of nature, anniversary, and fun times.

Almost caught up y'all!

In August we found out our baby number two is a GIRL! YAY!

Again all I have are notes and not a very good memory. So I'll just go ahead with the notes:

Uncle Asa is home on his off semester. Asa comes over to our house every Monday, Thursday, and Saturday night for dinner and computer programming stuff with Quentin. When Asa was first coming over O didn't know what to think of him because he kind of looked like daddy. One night we were going through names. O points to me," MOM!" Points to Q, "dad" and then points to Uncle Asa and says, "Someone". It was hilarious.

8/19th- Oliver woke up later than usual. He woke up at 9:40 in the morning. I thought he wasn't breathing for a while and was worried about him. Q told me that he was fine and to let him sleep.

-Oliver has been into chasing flies around the house. When they land and he swaps at them and they fly away he laughs and laughs. He thinks it is funny I guess. I think it is fun to watch him and see the pure joy he gets. I love feeling that pure joy watching him be a kid and enjoying the simple things in life.

8/30- Pulled pretend food out of his play cube and gave it to me to eat.

Oliver is learning a new word everyday. He loves the word squeeze. I love hearing him say, "I stuck" and then tries to wriggle out of where ever he is stuck, usually his booster seat at the kitchen table. He is really wanting to talk and say words. I love hearing his attempts. Today (October 1st) he learned the word bat and said it perfectly.

-When O wants to go outside, eat something, or wants something, he takes my hand and pulls on it signaling that he wants me to get up and follow him to meet his desires. He uses the word please to get what he wants. Somethings I say no to and he says please louder and louder and then tears up a little. Sometimes I break down and get him the thing he wants because he is just so adorable.

-Quentin and I celebrated our 3rd anniversary. It seems like it has been longer. This year we decided we wouldn't buy each other gifts but buy ourselves a gift, one that we both want. We bought train tickets up Mount Washington to celebrate. It was an eventful day and towards the end I remember not feeling well, stinkin' pregnancy.

That is all I have in my notes. Now onto pictures! My computer is doing something weird where it isn't inserting all the images I want to add to this post. So this is what you get I guess.

We made some soft and silky play dough from a recipe found on Pinterest.

There he is with that hat again. haha

He loved playing with. We have made play dough before and I liked how they turned out but I loved the way this one feels.

Can't you tell he loved it.

This is our anniversary and the following pictures(unless I tell you otherwise). This was our breakman or tour guide.

That was the train ahead of us  I believe.

Quentin switched camera lenses and got a closer view of the train in front of us.

This water is 100% pure. The Breakman guy told us a story where the workers would drink the water during their breaks. The boss guy thought he should get it checked out to see how clean it was and to know that it wasn't harming or infecting his workers. He sent in a sample to a lab and it came back as 100% pure. He didn't believe them so he sent in another sample to another lab and the same results came back. He still didn't believe them so he sent another sample to ANOTHER lab. The results came back as 100% pure water. He thought, well third time is the charm and allowed his workers to continue drinking the water.

This is the only steam engine that goes up and down the mountain. It only takes people up in the mornings. Our train left at 11:31 in the morning and this is the steam engine train coming down the mountain. It has to stop halfway at the water tank(above) to fill up and then it can continue going down the mountain. I believe it uses 750 tons of coal. If I remember correctly. There is the guy who drives the train and a fireman next to him in case something happens.

Some hikers if you can see them.

The view!

Those pile of rocks are called cairns. They are on the trail to help hikers know where to go.

This is at the top where our train dropped us off.

Isn't it beautiful? Apparently we chose a good day to go up the mountain because they breakman said that the day before was really cloudy and that you couldn't see five miles ahead. This day he said that you can see 50 miles ahead and that the temperature was good. I think it was 52 degrees up there.

They have a legit post office. They even encouraged you to send a letter to someone.

This is looking straight down. Nothing much.

I like that hole in the clouds.

"Look at those Irish curls" as my mom would say.

That is the tower where all their weather instruments are. I learned that in the winter times they get iced over and someone has to go out there and knock it all off. I would hate to have that job.

This is interesting. It is really dark on one side and then there is light on the side we are on.

Like those layers of mountains? Yeah I live in a beautiful place.

Proof that there is wildlife on that mountain. This little rabbit was actually racing our train down the mountain.

Quentin and I both thought that this was funny because we are on the mountain and people climb it.

There is the steam engine train parked.

On Sundays before church(which starts at 1 in the afternoon) I let Oliver watch Bible videos, listen to children's hymns, or I'm one in a billion video off the church's website.

He fell asleep as you can tell.

In his pool noodle. I guess he thinks it is comfortable.

Quentin is the Young Men's president. This is him and his one YM, Calvin. That is Uncle Asa next to Calvin.

Since our anniversary Quentin made a goal to hike Mount Washington. And in order to do that he has to train himself and gain some strength and endurance. His goal is to hike every Saturday trails that are around where we live. This is Mount Monadnock which is a 3 hour hike up and down. Mount Washington is a 5 1/2 hour hike up and down I believe, or maybe it is just up. I don't remember.

This hike is on Table Rock. This picture scares me. I tell Quentin to be safe and then he takes pictures like this and shows them to me. Doesn't he know that I worry?!

Asa being Quentin's prop.

He is good at posing for Quentin.

This is Mount Monadnock again except this time he went with his sister, Ivy, the missionaries, and his brother, Asa. At the top of the mountain there is a fire tower that you can climb up(if you aren't too tired from climbing up the mountain) and you can experience how winding it gets.

That is all for August. I am almost all the way caught up! Woot Woot! It pays to have family near by to babysit when you aren't feeling well and are on bed rest.
