3,4 Shut the door

Yes he is 4 months old! I need to write in my blog more often so that I don't have to remember everything that Oliver has accomplished. I write some stuff down but there are some moments that are so cute that I forget to record it and so I make a mental note and then about after a week, I forget it all. This post will be about his third and fourth month.
On the seventh of January Oliver flipped over for the first time. Both Quentin and I saw it. We were at our computers doing work and school. Oliver was on his toy mat when all of a sudden he pushed one of his arms and then rolled over. Quentin and I at the same time looked over at him and then at each other and questioned if he really flipped over or not. Well on the nineteenth  he flipped over again. I didn't get to see it but Quentin did. That day actually I have been trying to get him to roll over all day and then when Quentin got home from work I went to go get some sewing scissors in the other room when Oliver flipped over. Quentin laughed and I come into the room stomping because I was trying so hard to get him to flip over. I was mad for ten minutes. But I quickly got over it. It is hard to be mad when Oliver smiles at me.
The twenty second of January Oliver slept for six hours straight! I was so happy that I dropped down on my knees and thanked God for letting me get a good nights rest. I think I even shed a few tears. On the twenty fourth Oliver flipped over three times.

Oliver's fourth month was much more exciting because he started laughing. The first time he laughed was when I was cleaning his ears and he giggled when I put a cotton swab in. It was funny because that was the first time he laughed and I think it scared him a little because he stopped immediately. I was shocked that he laughed though! I told Quentin and he got a little upset because he wasn't there to hear his first laugh. But on February 25th Quentin put a diaper on O's face and then took it off really fast and O laughed and laughed. So that is how Quentin gets him to laugh.
His hair is growing back so he isn't totally bald anymore. Oliver doesn't like to lay down on his play mat anymore. He likes to be held and walk around. He loves seeing the world around him and all the different angles and views around the house. Oliver is also a very clean little boy. He goes through diapers like crazy. He will cry and cry to have his diaper changed. I tell him that he needs to fill it up a little bit more and then I'll change him but he tells me otherwise. Right after he poops he kicks his legs like he is trying to get away from his poopy diaper and it makes me laugh.
Lately, like the past five nights Oliver has slept through the entire night. He does to bed at 8 at night and he usually wakes up around 5:30. He takes naps at 9 A.M., noon, and 3 P.M., and then a power nap at 5:30 before dinner. This schedule is working well and I am proud of him. He has also learned how to scoot around in a circle on his play mat.
Being a mother is hard work I realize. There are things that I want to get done and I can't because he is either eating or wanting to be held and walked around. The other night I used the baby wrap that my parents bought me and that was FANTASTIC! I could cook dinner and do other things. My arms were FREE! I have found a balance of doing school work and taking care of my precious boy. He is so adorable. I love being his mother and being there to see all of his milestones.  He is growing up so fast. He is such a handsome boy. I get a lot of compliments on how good looking he is and how calm and quite he is. He is talking a lot more and we have full conversations. I love looking into his eyes and having a silent conversation with him. I love it when he looks into my eyes and smiles at me. I really love his smile. Something else I love is when he starts to pout he puckers up his bottom lip and I can't help but laugh. He truly is a blessing to Quentin and I.
Today in Fast and Testimony meeting Quentin got up to bear his testimony and he said that he is grateful that he has his own family and has more of an understanding of God's plan. Right now Oliver is on his play mat and Quentin is laying down in the arm chair. Out of the blue Quentin says,"You're a good mom." I replied, "I try." I really needed to hear that because I feel like I am not that good of a mom and that I could be doing better. I feel like I get short with Oliver and easily frustrated. I pray to God to comfort and patience. Anyhow, Oliver is great and these are just highlights of him being three months old and four months old. I wrote this blog to play catch up. Hopefully I don't skip writing about him being 5 months which by the way is at the end of this month.
Here are some pictures of my little man.

Quentin took this picture. Look at his tiny pinky! I took the picture to the right. I try to not let him suck on his thumb and he isn't here but it looks like he is.
One day Quentin put Oliver up to his screen so Oliver could spy on me doing my schoolwork. I thought it was too cute to not get a picture.

Oliver is in Grandpa Skousen's arms.
My little man rocking out to some dubsteb.
 I love sleeping babies.

This is him in one of his church outfits.
They are doing the same face.

I made Oliver a tent and he is trying to eat it just like everything else.
Did I mention that I love sleeping babies?
This was at Quentin's Nana's place. Quentin looked over to check on Oliver and found him with his little fingers sticking out. He is sleeping like a baby. haha

I made Oliver a chair out of snow. He didn't like the cold too much so after about 10 minutes we went back inside.
