April-June update

Here it is the end of August and I am suppose to remember what happened in April, May, and June. Good thing I took notes.

April 1st- Oliver didn't take a nap all day which ruined my nap time plans. He sure did an April Fool's joke on me.
- There was one night Oliver said, "O good man." Q and I laughed because we didn't know he could say that.
-O said, "I'm pregnant." while we were sitting down to eat waffles for breakfast. I looked at him and replied, "You are? I'm going to tell the world you said that." He gave me a kind of a glare look and said, "Don't do dat."
April 26th- O said "Amen" at the end of our dinner prayer. ( He usually says in right as we are saying, "In the name of Jesus Christ.")
-Oliver joined Nursery at church and he is the only child in there. Actually the only kid in our branch.

May- Oliver plays with his food. He either makes them walk and talk or drives them around his plate. (Is this a good habit, I don't think so.)
May 25th- Q found a garden snake up at his parent's house. As he was showing Oliver (who was interested in it. I wasn't I was 50 feet away from them) the snake falls out of Quentin's hand and slithers across O's feet. He screams and starts running towards me with tears in his eyes.

June 5th- I take my wedding ring off when I wash my hands, do the dishes, or take a shower. In this situation I took it off to take my shower. After my shower Q decided to clean the bathroom. I was getting dressed when I heard a noise and then an, "Oh no!" I rushed to the bathroom and Quentin looked up at me and said that he was sorry. I looked at him for a while. He continued with, "I accidentally vacuumed your ring. I didn't think the vacuum was that strong. I thought the ring would be heavier." "QUENTIN!" Luckily our vacuum tubes can be taken apart and he was successful in rescuing my ring.
- Oliver has been interested in dressing himself. He takes clothes out of ALL of our dressers and wraps them around himself. Sometimes he will make a bed of our clothes and just sit on them with a big smile on his face.
-Oliver LOVES the movie Frozen. He especially loves the song, "Let it go" and we play it at least once a day. If he sees my phone or me on the laptop (looking up a recipe usually) he starts to sing, "eh it go" while dancing and twirling his arms around. That usually means he wants to watch the music video. It is so cute to watch. I need to record him doing it someday. He likes the character Olaf. He also sings along to, "Do you want to build a snowman?" sung by Ana. He gets emotional when the waves take Elsa and Ana's parents. He gasps, puts his hands on his head and says, "Oh no!" It's cute.
-O uses my bobby pins as a microphone. Actually he uses the honey dipper as a microphone as well.
June 22nd- On the way home from Quentin's parent's place Oliver fell asleep in the car. (this was at night time)We got home, took him out of his carseat, changed his diaper and put him in p.j.s. He stayed asleep through all of this. We put him in his crib and he stayed asleep the entire night. We were very impressed. He didn't wake up the next day till 8:30 a.m. He usually wake up between 6:30-7:30.

There you have it, an April- June update.
Side notes- I just want to write about Oliver's personality and the adorable things that he does.
Whenever we go somewhere and we pass people he says hi to them and wants to shake their hand. It takes forever to go grocery shopping now but I don't mind because this is teaching him people skills and to not be afraid to make friends.
We go swimming every Monday and Friday at the community indoor pool and he is learning how to float. He loves the water. He thinks it is funny to splash my face.
He loves books. If you look at our living room floor at the end of the day you will see cars and books spread out. I am glad that he loves books. It is the first thing he wants to do in the morning and the last thing at night right before bedtime.
He is protective of me. We have a neighbor that is an elderly lady and she likes to give Oliver toys. One of the recent ones is a Hummer Fire Truck and it makes the most annoying noises ever. It has a button you push and it can drive forward on its own. Oliver doesn't like the his car can move on its own so he stays away from it while it is driving and just watches it. Well one night Quentin pushes the button and has the car pointed in my direction. I was sitting on the couch and my feet were on the floor. The truck drives into my feet and I playing-ly act like it is attacking me. Oliver got concerned, braved up and took the truck off my feet and put it in the kitchen and then came and  gave me a hug. It was sweet.
He loves being outside and playing in the dirt and puddles. He likes to pick flowers and toss them at me. Oliver collects rocks and sometimes throws them in the creek behind our house.
Recently he has taken an interest in chasing flies and laughing when they fly away from him.
Oliver loves to play peek -a- boo. I caught him one time putting his teddy bear's arm up to the teddy's eyes and says, "peeekahoo". The little things he does are adorable.
He doesn't like black olives or corn. But he loves tomatoes, feta, and marshmallows.
Oliver like to pretend to be a lion and rawrs really loud. I like it when he pretends to be a cat because when he says meow it is in a sweet soft whisper.
He tries ever so hard to jump like daddy.
Those are all of the things that I can think of on the top of my head. I am sure I will include more in other post.

Now for some pictures.

April-
Look at him advertising for Breyers ice-cream.

Sharing popcorn with grumpa.

And a drink.

These guys are buds. Grumpa calls him spud because he is from Idaho.

LOOK! A double rainbow!

Isn't it pretty?

I love his toes.

And nose.

And all of him really.

Oliver has many faces.

As you can tell.

I cleared out a cupboard for him so he can have his own space and feel important in the kitchen.

He likes to hide in it sometimes.

May-
He is so happy when he is dirty.

He loves dirt.

And cars.

I don't know what is going on here. I think he is trying to give me directions.

Wacky smile.

Serious face.

I forgot what we ordered that was so huge but Oliver loved the box and would eat his snacks inside it.

My handsome son.

Oh, he and daddy go on walks a lot in the morning time while I sleep(I'm 3 months pregnant at this point)and when I wake up I drive to where ever they are and we have a breakfast picnic.

He was asking where the birds are and I was telling him they are on the bridge above us.

Quentin found him like this one day.

I guess we did something really active that wore him out.

June-
Beaver Brook Falls.

Oliver is very good at hiking. He doesn't like getting assistance from us.

Here he is going up a steep part of the trail.

Quentin put this together. I thought it was the coolest thing and wondered why I didn't do this in my childhood.

Oliver helping daddy with the dishes.

And not liking that I caught him on camera.

Look at how long those eyelashes are.

He loves to play with B's watering can.

This is the 4-wheeler trail on their land.

When we are on hikes Oliver likes to have a walking stick with him.

I don't know where he learned it but I think it is pretty smart of him.

Look at that splash.

Stay tuned for the I'M PREGNANT! post.

Oliver's first haircut!

Back in March Oliver's hair was getting really long around his ears and growing a mullet in the back. I decided I would be brave and cut his hair. I have cut Quentin's hair before but he is smart and holds still. I got creative with Oliver. Quentin took pictures so I will let the pictures do the talking for me.
Here ya go:

He loves his adult toothbrush. (He has an adult toothbrush because he sees us using them and he also has a baby toothbrush)

Here is that face again.

Oliver being crazy cute.

I love his eyes.

He stole my comb so I had to get another one.

He wanted to steal the other one I got.

Those cheeks. And eyes. His little mouth.

Realized I was cutting his hair and didn't like it.

Feeling the lose of his hair in the back.

Mohawk!

He tasted some hair from the comb. That is what he gets for stealing.

Hair is almost done.

Watching me rinse my comb.

Me showing him the scissors.

Love his little smile.

I think in this picture he was trying to push me away.

Finished with his haircut. Time to take a bath and rinse all the hair off.

What a nice haircut huh? I gathered some of his hairs and put them in a Ziploc bag to have for memorabilia.

He was a trooper. It went better than I thought it would. I am not looking forward to the second haircut though because he is older and wiser and is harder to keep him still.
